6th Grade Science Information & Expectations
Curriculum
This class will investigate the following science topics:
LIFE SCIENCE: Living vs. non-living things, cell structure, types of cells, cell function, and factors that affect growth of plants and animals.
EARTH/SPACE SCIENCE: Catastrophic events, fossils and rocks as related to plate tectonics, and human impact on earth (past, present, & future).
PHYSICAL SCIENCE: Energy transfer and transformation, Kinetic energy, and object motion.
Student Expectations
Students should come to class with the following materials:
> pencil and pen
> Paper
> planner/agenda/calendar (we call it all of these things)
> Student Notebook
Grading
Two scored categories are used in science to determine grades:

Grading
Two scored categories are used in science to determine grades:
- Science Notebooks/Daily work 25 %
- Test/Quizzes/Projects 75%- end of unit tests and lesson quizzes given as needed; projects will be done in class. Students can arrange to re-take tests to improve their grades.
